Ongoing financial planning & investment management
Our fee schedule is as follows:
|The first $1 million of assets under management||1.0%|
|The next $4 million of assets under management||0.8%|
|The next $5 million of assets under management||0.6%|
|The next $5 million of assets under management||0.4%|
|All remaining assets under management||0.2%|
If assets under our management are less than $250,000, there is a $200/month ($2,400/year) fee for financial planning in addition to the 1% asset-based fee. Assets under management are reviewed at the beginning of each year to determine if this additional fee is to be paid.
Yes! We are an independent, fee-only advisory firm. We act as a fiduciary, not a broker. This means we do not receive any commissions or payments from any third party. Because the only fee we receive is from our clients, we serve as your committed partner and put your best interests above all else.
Our fees are based on the value of the investments that we manage on your behalf. Since we often work with members of extended families across multiple generations, we also offer family pricing.
Only the assets we manage are subject to the fees above. We do not charge for additional services, such as financial planning. Outside accounts, such as your 401(k) are not billable, but they are included in our advice and guidance. We also advise on most types of insurance (i.e., life, health, disability, long term care, home, and auto), but we do not sell or receive any commissions for working with your insurance agents.
Transparency makes life much easier, and you should know exactly what you are paying. If you are not sure what you are currently paying, we are happy to prepare a fee comparison for you. We benchmark our fees every year against our peers to ensure that we are charging a fair fee.
We heavily emphasize using low-cost investments, such as Vanguard and Dimensional Fund Advisors. However, we are not married to any mutual fund company or custodian. You are our client, and therefore, you are our only focus.
Your accounts are held in your name at qualified custodians, such as Charles Schwab or T. Rowe Price.
