Our Values

Core Values are the fundamental beliefs of the people within an organization.  These guiding principles dictate behavior and can help people understand the difference between right and wrong.  Core values also help organizations determine if they are on the right path and fulfilling their goals by creating an unwaivering guide.  We tried to cut this list down, but we felt strongly that each of these should be included, expressed, and lived.

Our Fiduciary Duty
Being a Fiduciary means that you must always put the client's needs first.  In addition, you must always act as a prudent expert would.  We must work hard to never deviate from being a fiduciary.

Trust
Since we expect our client relationships to be long-term, it is paramount that they be based on trust. In turn, these ideals influence all the decisions of the firm and our employees.

Honesty & Integrity
Integrity demands honesty and candor which must not be subordinated to personal gain or advantage. We place ourselves in positions of trust by our clients, and the ultimate source of that trust is personal integrity. Allowance can be made for innocent error and legitimate differences of opinion, but integrity cannot co-exist with deceit or subordination of one’s principles.

Organization
We will help bring order to your financial life, by assisting you in getting your financial house in order (at both the “macro” level of investments, insurance, estate, taxes, etc., and also the “micro” level of household cash flow).

Accountability
Open and honest communication is a hallmark of our firm. We work to keep our clients updated and informed of relevant updates, changes, and suggestions.  We will help you follow through on financial commitments, by working with you to prioritize your goals, show you the steps you need to take, and regularly review your progress towards achieving them.

Proactivity
We work with you to anticipate your life transitions and to be financially prepared for them, by regularly assessing any potential life transitions that might be coming, and creating the action plan necessary to address and manage them ahead of time.

Objectivity
We will provide professional services and advice objectively.  Objectivity requires intellectual honesty and impartiality. Regardless of the particular service rendered or the capacity in which we function, we should protect the integrity of our work and maintain objectivity.

Life Long Learning
Competence means attaining and maintaining an adequate level of knowledge and skill, and application of that knowledge and skill in providing services to clients. Competence also includes the wisdom to recognize the limitations of that knowledge and when consultation with other professionals is appropriate or referral to another professional if necessary.

Partnership
We attempt to help you achieve the best life possible but will work in concert with you, not just for you, to make this possible, by taking the time to clearly understand your background, philosophy, needs and objectives, work collaboratively with you and on your behalf (with your permission), and offer transparency around our own costs and compensation.

Confidentiality
Protect the confidentiality of all client information.  Confidentiality means ensuring that information is accessible only to those authorized to have access. A relationship of trust and confidence with our clients can only be built upon the understanding that their information will remain confidential.

Value For Clients
We will continue to evaluate all fees and charges that clients are paying to ensure that clients are getting a superior value for what they pay us, the custodians, mutual funds, and other vendors.  We regularly benchmark our fees compared to competitors to ensure that our fees are reasonable and competitive.

Transparency
Transparency is about information. It is about the ability of the receiver to have full access to the information he/she wants, not just the information the sender is willing to provide. Transparency embodies honesty and open communication because to be transparent someone must be willing to share information when it is uncomfortable to do so. Transparency is an individual being honest with themselves about the actions they are taking.

Passion
We will stand up for what we believe in, and go the extra distance in all our activity.  We will work hard to ensure that we hire people who are truly passionate about the profession.

Teamwork
A commitment to common goals based on open and honest communication while showing concern and support for each other.  Working as a true team to ensure that we maximize the talents of everyone on our team to provide superior advice and counsel.

Loyalty
We protect and support each other on the team as well as the clients we serve.

Respect
We will treat people with courtesy, politeness, and kindness.  We will encourage coworkers to express opinions and ideas.  We will use people’s ideas to change or improve work, let employees know you used their idea, or, better yet, encourage the person with the idea to implement the idea.

Commitment
We will always be committed to our clients, each other, the firm, and the profession.

Innovation
We encourage everyone to always be thinking about how to make the firm and our processes better.  We encourage everyone to think about the future of the profession, research new technologies and bring those to the team for discussion.

Community Leadership
We invest our time and resources to support the communities in which we live and work, improving the quality of life for everyone.

Employee Value
We value our colleagues as we do our clients. We are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for professional and personal development.

Professionalism
We will act in a manner that demonstrates exemplary professional conduct.
